Boy OH Boy! God gives the increase!

SO much to CELEBRATE!!! A new GRANDson and a new SON in one day!!! We had all been waiting for Hudson to join us! And anticipating Chris and Ashley's engagement so don't you know it would all happen within a few hours of each other.

I just visualize Father God standing over us smiling and saying, this is a day you will always remember with such fondness and joy, October 31,2008.

The Psalms ring in my ears everyday-'for you have turned our mourning into dancing, you have turned our sorrow in to joy' AND 'behold children are a gift of the Lord, the fruit of the womb is a reward...like arrows in the hand of a warrior, so are the children of ones youth how blessed is the man who's quiver is full of them!

I have been so impressed with the mates of my children-Jennie, Shannon and now Chris. I could have never imagined what He was planning for them. Chris a great addition to our clan. Our quiver is full, but pray there are more to come!

Welcome to the "Gee" Spot! Why G-Paw and Memaw?

We love getting to see what is happening with our kids and gran kids, along with the nieces, great nieces and nephews! So why not create our own little corner of fun!
So many have asked how did we get our grand parent names. If you know our 2 sons at all, you know that for many years they were "hell bent" on naming us somehting unprouncable and obscene, if they could get away with it! Marty would be "teetee" and Sherry would be called "huuuu" with a heavy consonant as to sound like your clearing your throat.
We felt this would be very confusing for our gran kids, especially when they started potty training! So we began our search for the "proper" grand parent names.
We liked "poppi" for Marty, but every man our age seemed to already have chosen that.

So one night we were watching a show on T.V. and the lead character's aging American Indian granfather showed up and he was called "G" Paw, with a heavy accent on Paw. The relationship between the grandfather and grandaughter was pure sweetness. He was aging and she adored him. He still believed he could do everything they had done together, in both of their younger days. Like riding horses. So Marty decided he would like to be known as G-Paw, I then selected Memaw to go with it, since "we're kind a like peas and carrots". Jennie has promised to make sure Lane is taught to call us by our grandparent names. We trust her completley but know there are others that may try to trump the plan. (The boys seem to have this vendetta and we don't know why!) So if you see us walking down the street with "teetee" and 'Huuuuu" on our Tshirts you'll know we're not crude, just crazy about our grand kids!
